  1. Looks wonderful. I love canning cranberry juice. My mom would be over 100. She always made fresh cranberry relish (uncooked) with cranberries, peeled orange segments, sugar and nuts. Love your channel!🥰
I love canning and really miss gardening and canning like I did before I was disabled with spinal and nerve damage

  2. QUESTION… I’m disabled so lifting a water bath canner isn’t something I can do anymore. Would this steam canner work for anything I would normally water bath? If so it would allow me to once again can more things. Before our house fire and when I got hurt a few years later just out of our garden I would put up over 500 jars a year not including canning meats.
Now just to keep a few easy meals on hand I use a Carey canner but it can only hold 3 to 4 jars at a time so not practical for canning batches.
I started watching YouTube and your channel in 2018 while recovering from spinal surgery. I LOVE your channel and how you inspire so many to learn to can and follow safe practices. I learned to can from my mom who would be over 100. Things sure have changed over the years. In a world where there is a lot of crazy and where it’s a challenge to find decent things to watch you are a blessing to me and many others. Oh I wish I had a neighbor like you. I still love to try to garden and can and no one I know has any interest. Thanks again 😊

  3. How long is this good on the shelf? Is it something that can be added to our preps or do we need to use it up pretty soon?

  4. @Suttons Daze QUESTION…. Leisa ALL my canning books say cook (whatever ingredients) in a stainless steel pot…I don't have any stainless steel cookware. MUST I use them in the canning process or can I use what I have? Why do they say use stainless steel – is there any science behind this?

  5. Make my own every year. We use orange juice instead of water in the cranberries raw. We add the whole orange and a apple skins and all in the grinder. Sugar to taste. We don't cook it at all. It's amazing. Passed down from my grandmother. Now I know I can can it thanks to you 💋

  6. Great video. I made cranberry sauce a month ago (got cranberries at from Cranberry Fest in Warren WI in bulk!) I followed the Pamonas pectin recipe and it was amazing, and used half the sweetener!

  7. Thank you for this video, I just bought cranberry's on sale and want to can them,
I have been looking at steam canners but so confused, what kind of steam canner do you use? Hope its ok to ask you this question.

  8. I just picked up my cranberries at Walmart yesterday. I will make them this way today and then have them on my pantry shelf. Thank so much for sharing.

  9. Oh that's good stuff, I make it the same way and then for my adult children take out the skins and seeds, that is a process but so much better than store bought.

  10. I can’t wait to can this! I just ordered Forjars last night with your discount code. I have a few hundred Ball lids that I’m afraid to use since the seals on over half of my ugly chicken failed a few days ago. No siphoning. All done correctly. Ugh

  11. Canning cranberry sauce is a satisfying project and boy does it make the house smell amazing. I also add the juice of the orange too. It is so yummy.

  12. I use a similar recipe, but I add blueberries to it. My family loves it. Just equal parts of fruit and the sugar and water the same. It's so pretty on the shelf!

  13. Lovely! I am not making cranberry sauce this year, as I still have a couple of jars from 2020 and about 12 pints from 2021. I am not buying cranberries either this year as I went through my freezer and found about 20 packages that I froze back last year and the year previous. Good thing I vacuum sealed most of them!

  14. I've never liked commercially canned cranberry sauce. It took me a couple of years to talk my husband into trying it this way, now he wont even look at a can in the store. My mom puts orange and cinnamon in hers. I put orange in mine if we have them. Have you tried the Ball Cranberry mustard?? OMG so much better than the commercially processed brands.

  15. I have multiple cases of new BALL jars with lids and have found A LOT of them with defective sealing compound. I have to check every one of them before using.
Ball lids have turned to junk lids.

  16. Great video. I'm addicted to cranberries. Oranges are such a great touch to cranberry relish. I also garnish the top of the bowl of C relish with slice twisted for a pretty Turkey Day presentation.
I love cranberries and stock up every year on bags of them. I put them whole into a yellow cake mix, coat with sugar and pour into a tube pan then drizzle with glaze..yumm everyone loves it.
I tried something new last Thanksgiving. My vegan daughter requested my homemade cranberry sauce too be sweetened with Maple syrup…it was the bomb and the kids didn't even know :)). I love raw C relish too.

  17. It is now Thursday, November 3rd, made your cranberry sauce this afternoon, made five half pints and a little bit for sampling. It is awesome! Thanks for sharing:-🦃🦃

  19. So, when you open your jar, will it be Jellied? Or more of a sauce? I like the jellied to add to my turkey sandwich and just want to be sure, because I will be making this, this week TY TY I love your channel!

  20. Leisa, I just made this, and Oh My Goodness, it is divine! I’m going to make a few batches this weekend and will be sharing with family for Thanksgiving. Thank you! You are a great teacher and so much fun to learn from 😊

  21. After making mine last year, I said I would never by a can again. But when I can't find cranberries, I may have to do so. Homemade really is better than can.

  22. Have you ever been successful using erythritol or any other non-sugar sweetener? If so, what’s been your experience. Thanks.

  23. I’m so glad you posted this! My recipe is basically the same except I also add fresh ginger grated finely on a microplane or pressed through a garlic press. Do you think it would be ok to can with the ginger added?

  24. 1/2 the amount is also fine as that is a lot of sugar, you'd be shocked how 1/2 the sugar will make an amazing cranberry sauce ~ But I'm not the FDA so what do I know LOL

  25. Wait… WHAT cottage cheese? And I thought deviled eggs on a fall or winter holiday table was far out. Gotta love PHIL!!! I love cottage cheese but not on Turkey day LOL

  26. Just for fun, I looked up the recipe for Cranberry Conserve as printed in the "COMPLETE GUIDE TO HOME CANNING, PRESERVING AND FREEZING" produced by the United States Department of Agriculture:
1 quart cranberries (about 1 lb)
    2 c water
    3/4 c raisins, chopped
    2 oranges
    3 c sugar
    1/4 shopped nuts
Fill half pint jars (5) to 1/8 inch, wipe rim, screw on lid. Let sit til cool. Not even water bathed. Copywright date is 1973. Ah, life was so much simpler then. Makes you wonder how many people had to screw up for all the canning changes over the decades.

  27. Just made this ready for tomorrow. I added a dash of chilli infused sherry i’d been leaving a few months to a couple of jars. Had a little extra so dropped it into a bowl for tasting and wow. Its awesome. Thank you! First time making it – first time w-bathing it.

  28. Can you substitute orange juice for the water, I made this for use for the holidays and I used orange juice instead of water just wondering how it will can . Thank you

  29. I have 25lbs of cranberries coming in via Azure next week. I wanted to make more cranberry juice but I think I'll try a batch of the cranberry sauce. Everyone is raving about it. Thanks for another pantry staple recipe.

  30. Just finished canning 12 half pints! I had almost a pint left so I put it in the fridge to have with chicken and dumplings for dinner tonight. Love your videos, I've been binge watching for weeks now and I'm learning so much..
    Thank you
