The “creamy au jus” sauce is the secret to this burger. Our version is very simple but effective. Here’s the recipe:
1/3 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon of Beef Base (we use Better Than Bullion brand)
2 drops of Lea & Perrin’s Worchestershire Sauce
Whisk together until well mixed. Refrigerate until ready to use. Keeps up to 3 days in the refrigerator.

I've never had this. Looks delicious and I'm going to try it! Thank you for sharing and God bless 💕
Thank you for that recipe. I know he enjoyed it.
Look at you and the handsome Paul brain storming a mad scientist experiment in the kitchen!
Your Blue Willow dishes are beautiful.
I'm just curious, where did you find the beef base? Looks like a great burger. I'd like to try making it some time.
Stumbled on this by accident. Hats off to you for attempting to recreate that sauce. I would never know where to begin. It is definitely my favorite burger of all time. If you like grilled onions, add them to the order and enjoy. Its by far the best ever anywhere in my opinion. Hopefully the bank buyout wont screw up this last bastion of an amazing fast food restaurant. Ill have to try the sauce real soon. Thank you.
Thank you for posting this!!
Sounds intriguing, but I heard I can get those in a number of different places…
I’ve had some good burgers in my time. Uh, I love a good swiss, melted swiss cheese, mush- roasted mushrooms and caramelized onions on a burger. Uh…that is hot stuff, you can get that at- at a number of different places.
I think I’m going to add a dash of creole seasoning . It has something red in that sauce
Ytod
I’m obsessed with the Mushroom Swiss burger. It’s mainly for this sauce 😍😍😍 can’t get enough
Okay, this recipe was 🔥🔥🔥!!! So glad i came across this to make myself and saved me the money, travel, and eating a 55% beef patty. Im stuffed!
Just had the Swiss mushroom burger from Whattaburger this weekend ( first whattaburger ever) SOOOO glad I found this!!
Curious do you add anything to the hamburger before or after patting it out?
Its amazing I get one from whataburger once a week
Needs to be a little thicker. Corn starch or flour maybe?
Thank you so much for this video! I am making these today 😄
I heard a stomach growl at 5:50. That is a sure sign you're doing something right. Is there an estimated yield on this recipe?
That sauce is damn addictive, i order extra on the side.
It does taste the same but mine was very thin
Thank you for sharing! This is my absolute favorite burger from Whataburger but due to health reasons I need to have an anti inflammatory diet. Unfortunately I highly doubt Whataburger can offer me that with their recipe! But some good beef at home, no bun & your sauce-I’d be in compliance! Thank you! 🥰

Chefs kiss 💋 this recipe nailed it! Although, I ended up mixing the sauce in the pan with the mushrooms to thicken it up and it was heavenly. Thank you kindly for sharing this recipe.
Thanks for showing us this. We're trying to copycat Whataburger's Mushroom & Swiss. ALso, sorry that Paul's not feeling good, but I like seeing him in the videos.
Thank you so much for this recipe!! Spot on!!
Thanks so much for this I really wanted to make it at home and KNEW there was a special sauce
In the original sauce mayonnaise is a very prominent flavour so I think maybe mayo instead of heavy cream
Just made this & I ❤️ it!!
Look everybody else I'm hooked on the mushswiss burgers as well. Thanks for the recipe gonna give a try and it's great I'll spread the word.
I ❤️ all my mushroom Swiss burger lovers. Im sadden to hear they discontinued….rip burg
Is there a list of ingredients? Whataburger has recently dropped the mushroom and Swiss off their menu, so in other words, I will not be going back
I'd like to make the sauce a little thicker. Suggestions?
I used to make that sauce years ago for my steak!
You should try it
Thank you I will try it i haven’t had it since February and I’m hoping to find something similar
My husband and I discovered the Whataburger Mushroom Swiss burger only a few months before they discontinued it! We were crushed! Thanks for this recipe. The taste was spot on.
I finally made it thank you so much it was delicious
Thank you
I love this thank you! My fiance also loves this burger! Since they removed the mushroom swiss from the menu he was a bit disappointed. Now I can try to make it for him!
This is a spot on identical copy for the Whataburger Mushroom swiss burger sauce. Make it! Use an entire carton of mushrooms and cook them all the way down. Perfection.
What a gilf!
Best fry sauce ever.
