Lobster rolls are one of my most favorite foods. So while on vacation in New England I just had to make some. Tender pieces of lobster, diced celery and chives bound with a little mayonnaise and a squeeze of lemon juice and placed into a buttery New England style bread roll… absolutely delicious !

Lobster Salad Rolls
1 pound cooked lobster meat, cut into chunks
4 tablespoons salted butter
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup celery, finely diced
2 TBS chives, finely sliced
1 TBS lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 New England rolls or hot dog buns

  3. You said the rolls are different than New England Lobster Rolls but Maine is in New England. So is Connecticut (The other style of Lobster Roll which is made with hot butter and warm lobster).

  6. I'm pretty sure lobster rolls were common in the Canadian Maritimes long before them were made in America, and the story about 'servants' (actually a more common version of the story has it being prisoners), is a complete myth. Never happened.

  7. The reason lobster was so hated way back in the day was they used to just grind it up shell and all and make a soup.

  8. I make this all of the time! I grew up in NY, and when we went to Maine when I was a child, I had my first one. Wonderful!! Moved to Cape Cod when I got older and learned the recipe. I had moved to IA and had my son fresh lobster, and lobster rolls were his favorite. Helps when you have friends who go lobstering and send me some overnight delivery. Yummy!! Thank you for actually doing a good recipe on them. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿชถ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

  9. I've never used lemon juice in my lobster rolls, but spot on with the toasted rolls! Delicious looking, and I wish I had one or both of those right now!

  12. Looks so delicious! I'm a lobster roll purist and prefer the Connecticut style (warm with melted butter on a toasted split top hot dog bun) but would not say no to one of these.

  13. Great video. I'm from Nova Scotia. I have friends and family that fish them. A tip for the walking legs, use a rolling pin or wine bottle to squeeze out the meat.

I put a tsp of Franks Red Hot and a Tsp of Worcestershire sauce along with the ingredients you use Darren and you cannot taste either and it is not spicy but for some reason it takes it all to an enhanced level. I got this from Katherine Lee who is a television food critic. She was on Paula Deans tv show and she made lobster rolls using these two little added ingredients. Maybe you could try it sometime.๐Ÿ™‚

  19. There is a new small chain restaurant that recently opened up
    on our area. Angie's lobster. They serve a hot, cold, or fried
    lobster sandwich meal, for $10. The hot and cold sandwiches,
    are just like you just did, the fried ones are 3 battered and fried
    half tails. VERY minimalist store. Only takeaway, absolutely
    NO seating. In the lobby, you can only pay with your phone.
    No personal interaction at all. Drive through, phone, debit card,
    or even cash. 3 or 4 times a week, for me.

    Oh, greater Phoenix Az area.

  20. Quick and easy hack for the little legs: lay them on a cutting board then run a rolling pin up the leg to press the meat out.
