Sayadieh is a traditional Lebanese dish. My husband is Lebanese so he grew up on this dish among many others. I am slowly learning all the dishes my mother in law would make as I hope to recreate these meals and memories in our family!

It is fried fish and spiced rice. This recipe takes about an hour, so something to try on a weekend maybe? You will have lots of leftovers though! It is AMAZING. If you want to impress your friends or get your kids to eat fish, try this!!

Ingredients:
5 large Merlan fish (also known as whiting fish) – Make sure you scale it!! This step is crucial. The last thing you want is to be eating scaly fish !!
To spice the fish:
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp flour

For the rice:
1 onion diced
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp tumeric
1 1/2 tsp white pepper
2 cups of Basmati rice
4 cups of water
handfull of pine nuts and slivered almonds

I hope you enjoyed this recipe it is one of my favorites!

ENJOY 🙂
