I think the bowl is my problem. Would you consider a plate?

So many shades of beige and brown. That’s not the immediate deal breaker. I’ve seen beige and brown desserts look good.

That tuile is the problem. It doesn’t look super appetizing. Lots of uneven baking and the little yellow chunks are funky. Try something like this:

This banana tuile is two ingredients. The color looks super even. If you don’t have a dehydrator, that’s ok. You can bake it on your oven’s lowest setting.

I like the look of this one less than above (the one above looks cleaner and pretty), but it can still be done in a cool way. I don’t think they put a recipe in. I think it’s literally just a banana sliced long ways and dehydrated.

That tuile looks like hardtack. I’m sorry but it’s horrible.

Being that it’s your only garnish and nothing else is really going on in the dish, it’s really lacking on presentation.

I would’ve made banana bread instead of a sponge, I would have drizzled that caramel over the ice cream as well, and I feel you would have better luck making a thin cracker out of the banana and breaking it up and hiding everything under it.

Regardless, the plate doesn’t look bad. There’s just not much going on here.
