Is the chive actually considered a workable ingredient on this dish?

Sounds delicious, but whole chives on the plate – while adding a needed visual element on top of the monochrome corn puree, really dates this dish in the 80s. If the chive is meant to be eaten and add flavor to the dish, mince it and put it over the purée (I would carefully place it in a design). You made a beautiful dish…but the first thing someone would have to do in order to consume it is *remove* an inedible element, which by contemporary standards is considered a major flaw.
