Next time I’d mandolin along the long-side to show off the shape of the breakfast radish better and maybe add some creme fraiche or infused butter. Still delicious tho 😋

This is my absolute favorite treat!! Good butter, good radishes, sourdough, and some flaky salt 👌

Was the toast cold by the time it was eaten ?

Looks like a nice open face radish sandwich for eating at home, but to really do the French justice, you’d need way more butter.

Well it certainly is radishes on toast. I’ll give you that

Looks nice and all, but the cuts and the placement need tightening up. If you’re gonna rely on such simple visual aspects, then they need to be on point. The shingling is a bit haphazard and the radishes uneven (I hate cutting radishes so I feel your pain)

There’s no way that tastes like anything other than radishes on toast.

This is not appetizing, it is not appealing, it is the wrong type of plate and the placement is off. I’m gonna give you a 0 of 10.

Sounds delicious? Yep.
Would I eat? Absolutely. Radishes with butter is a classic for a reason.
But looks-wise, this is a resounding *meh*. It’s not tight enough to be an exercise in precision, and not jumbled enough to give a pleasing randomness.
Start with the fundamentals: cutting your radishes evenly, without tears or ragged edges. If you play an instrument, you master scales before songs. If you cook, you need to master knife skills before you move on to anything else.
(He starts off with James Beard’s onion sandwich, and then moves to radishes)

I must’ve only eaten bad radishes because to me they’re flavourless added to a dish to provide a bit of crunch or colour only and never a main flavour/element of a dish.

Oddly enough, I watched [Jacques Pepin’s video on this just last night.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=53zD6i5zGc8)
